Mindmap

This was the beginning of our project. We got a subject to work on: "Enable access to basic services and natural resources to the poorest population." Then, after a brainstorming we found that global poverty could be reduced only by addressing the needs of the bottom of the pyramid with adapted offers and services. Then, we decided to address the need of education especially for low revenue people. You can find our mindmap here.

Project Draft

When? where? who? why?

Research has shown that increasing access to books improves academic performance and attitudes toward reading and learning. But it can be costly for some people who have a low revenue to buy a lot of books to learn. That is why ,we decide to create EDUSPREAD so that people with a low income can enjoy reading a lot of books without spending huge amount of money.

Target - for whom?

The application is for all people with low income who love reading, want to learn and increase their knowledge.

Service offered - what? how?

The application will function as follows: The book is at the same time the product and the change. So you pay a book with a book. You will just have to create your account and insert all the caracteristics of the books that you want to exchange. Then, you will scroll down through the application to see what others people are offering as a book too. You make your choice, contact the owner and pay deliveries fees or just meet in person if the seller is close to your area.We have also added a feature where people can donate money which can be used to ship books at the doorstep. In order to gain confidence in the app, a person can find brief details of other sponsors who had donated money previously.

Wireframe

They represent the first insights of how our application will look like. We tried to incorporate all the features that we want our app to provide to users. Nevertheless after some users tests and feedback we have improved it.

Mock up and Tests

This is the last part of the project and one of the most important. We make the app tested by some users to get feedback and how we could improve it. We receive a lot of relevant suggestions that we have considered to build up a good user experience on the app.

We have added a section about us in order to give a brief idea to the users of the service, a navigation bar for a better user experience. We have incorporated a chat history section too. Finally we added a page where you can have information about the sponsors as well as a report of the money donated for a matter of transparency and to assure the donors.

Users tests feedback

These are some feedbacks from user experience.

I like the theme of the project as well as the idea but it may be good to have navigation bar to access differents section of the app in one click.

Anushka Mathew – Student

I like the idea to be connected to people within the same city but I am not satisfied because I could not find the chat history with the sellers , which would be helpful to contact them later.

Palak Garg – Working Professional

The idea is very good. Actually, I have a lot of books that I have collected in the previous years and didn't know what to do with them. But As a a new user I could not know the purpose of the app, what all functions does the app can perform. I was not able to find them.
